PLAYLIST // SUMMER TRAVELS

I'm off on another adventure, this time to Florida! I'll be at a conference, but I'm hoping to soak in some sun in the meantime. I love flying, so I'm pumped to be waking up at the ripe time of 5:00 a.m. tomorrow to start the 5-days of fun. Coffee, please!

As I mentioned here, I've stumbled upon a bunch of new music that I love. I'll be utilizing my new friends during layovers in the airport and layout sessions at the pool. These songs fit the bill for happy summer songs that somehow avoid being like The Beach Boys (not hating though). I discovered Jake Bugg, and love his 60's sound of blues-rock-folk. The Summer Set and Hot Chelle Rae put some boy band in the mix, for good measure. The Lumineers, Ace Frehley and Joshua Radin provide solid wandering and exploring music. Michael Franti, Logan Kendell, Mozella and The Bird and The Bee add that happy, bubbly music that always makes me smile and seems especially fitting for summer fun. It's all good, in my book.

Hey Ho - The Lumineers
Lightning Bolt - Jake Bugg
Sound of Sunshine - Michael Franti & Spearhead
Someone Like You - The Summer Set
Let's Stop Calling It Love - Mozella
Be With You - Michael Castro
I'm into Something Good - The Bird and The Bee
Downtown Girl - Hot Chelle Rae
New York Groove - Ace Frehley
Sweet and Low - Augustana
Make It Through - Sherwood
Streetlight - Joshua Radin
Put Your Records On - Corinne Bailey Rae
You are the Best Thing - Ray LaMontagne
Kiss the Girl - Logan Kendell

Can you feel the rays of sun? The sand on your feet? The water on your toes? I sure can. So tell me, what else should I be listening to this summer?
