THOUGHTS // CURRENTLY

Loving gardens and flowers lately, particularly of the pinterest variety. I still don't know the names of most flowers, and my green thumb is definitely unpracticed, but I can't get enough of the green.  It's funny because my cousin, sister and I have a theory that as you get older, your love for flowers grows, too.  Since this week marks my 21st birthday, I suppose it's my time.  Our little theory is definitely true for our family.  I'm pretty sure my grandma could, and has, grown almost every plant under the sun.  My mom isn't too shabby either, seeing as my childhood backyard is part rose garden.

Thinking about being grown up.  My 21st birthday is in two days (eek!).  The only thing that will be restricted from me come Friday is renting a car, and I'm not too torn up about that one.  I'm actually not jumping for joy at the thought of my 21st.  Don't get me wrong, I'll enjoy being 21.  But I'm not a big birthday person and attention-seeking is the last word I would use to describe myself.  I tend to get reminiscent around my birthdays (and major holidays) so bear with me.  Lately, I've actually felt younger than before, if that makes any sense.  Don't get me wrong, I still feel oh-so-inexperienced, but I have so much energy and life in me lately.  I'm soaking in all of the fun and laughter and good things I can get, and worrying a lot less than before.  I catch myself smiling while walking around campus, and I'm much more confident than I was even a few months ago.

Anticipating May 4th, AKA the end of finals and the beginning of beautiful summer!  In May, I'm taking a two week hiatus and living on my parents' couch (oh, and experiencing tulip time for the 21st year of my life).  After that, I'll be moving myself into my very first house (eep!) and living in Indianapolis all summer.  I have some fun weekend getaways in the works, too!  This summer is going to be fantastic.

Listening to my "study time" playlist.  Filled with Ben Rector,  Mat Kearney, Matt Nathanson, and Mumford & Sons.  It's academic crunch time throughout April.

Eating lots of nutella with bananas and pitas with hummus.

Wishing that I could visit Miss Lib in Fort Wayne, Ind. for the Vera Bradley sale next week.  Sadly, my schedule doesn't allow for catching up with newly-relocated friends who are rocking their new jobs.

p.s. this post is inspired by Danielle of Sometimes Sweet.  I've been a blog-follower for some time know and her "currently" series is such a great way to get a glimpse into life lately!
